Announcing partnership with Artshine Inc. and Chouette Publishing for project ARTSHINE READS.

Kitchener, ON

World-renowned publishing house Chouette Publishing, best known for their Caillou series, is collaborating, under their CrackBoom! imprint, with Canadian art school Artshine Inc., in a partnership that fosters a love of reading and art in children.
Stemming from the imagination of Canadian visual artist and storyteller, Caroline Lavallée-Milot, Artshine Reads is an all-around immersive experience, that combines the passion for reading with a strong taste for creativity, all in one box. Artshine Reads wraps around a storytelling video that highlights vocabulary, and is followed by a guided art workshop, inspired by the book. With “Unbox a Tale!” as the slogan, families are invited to unwrap a new hard cover book each time, with a box of curated art supplies for an art project that promises to spark the imagination!

Caroline Lavallee-Milot on Artshine Reads:

“Integrating vocabulary with a strong sense of atmosphere are both key ingredients to propel the taste for storytelling in children. We were motivated in reaching out to children, both in their native and second language, to provide access to a positive experience in regard to fundamental skills.”
Artshine Reads aims to build vocabulary and reading skills, provide meaning for young artists, and combine reading and art into an interdisciplinary learning experience.
Artshine Inc. is a Canadian Social Enterprise, with its profits going back into each community that we serve. Our vision is to create a community where participation in the arts is not limited by income, ability or life circumstances.

Kitchener, ON
